My Top 3 Favorites for 2019 US Open Men’s Singles
With the 2019 US Open in full swing, this year's last grand slam tournament is in its 139th iteration. The Men’s Singles will be played at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City. With $57.0 million in total prize money, we expect nothing but an epic battle between the world’s most revered tennis icons. Speaking of icons, three names have dominated the winner’s circle for the longest time. I think we can all agree that Djokovic, Federer, and Nadal are the top dogs for the 2019 US Open Men's Singles. Through the years, they have always been consistent as favorites going into each leg of the grand slam. Novak Djokovic Djokovic has won four of the last five grand slam tournaments in the sport & looks to defend his title at the US Open Tournament. The Serb comfortably ranks atop of the world ranking after winning this year's Australian Open & last month's Wimbledon against Grand Slam title leader - Roger Federer in five sets. Djokovic has made known that he is not done yet and has placed his sights on surpassing Roger Federer's 20 Grand Slam titles. The 32 year old's recent string of victories puts him in as the early favorite given how competitive the tennis circuit is today. Will he be able to repeat his superior skills that got him the Championship title? Guess we’ll find out. Rafael Nadal The Spaniard sits second in the world rankings and won this year's Roland-Garros in Paris & secured an impressive win at the Canadian Open in Montreal after handily defeating Russia's Daniil "The Machine" Medvedev 6-3 6-0. Nadal last won the tournament in 2017, and looks to claim his 4th title in New York after being forced to withdraw last year against Argentinian Juan Martín del Potro during the semi-finals. He also pulled-out of the from the Cincinnati Masters for the second year in a row as he wanted to be primed and ready for the 2019 US Open Men's Singles. Roger Federer The Swiss powerhouse finished second to Novak at the recently concluded Wimbledon tournament in five sets & last won the US Open tournament in 2008 where he claimed the title for five straight years. Federer took part at the Cincinnati Masters where he lost to Russian Andrey Rublev in the third round 3-6, 4-6. Federer has admitted that he is not the top favourite for the tournament, but has maintained confidence that he can win it all in New York despite the rise of younger stars in the field. The "Big Three" in men's tennis remain as the early favorites for the 2019 US Open Men's Singles as they have won 54 of the last 65 Grand Slam titles. New talent is slowly becoming a threat though. They have to work their way against the sport's rising stars Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev, Dominic Thiem, and Marin Cilic who are showing early signs of dislodging the three tennis giants from their dominance. Every pro sports bettor out there started as a beginner. And every poker or casino expert started as a neophyte. I haven’t reached the pinnacle of the betting world yet, but everyday I try to move closer to it. I created this blog so we can learn together and eventually be better, responsible bettors. Follow me for more tips and strategies on betting, casino gaming, and poker. I usually base my content on my betting experience at Nitrogen Sports. Their blog is also extremely helpful for updates.
